Meet my office neighbor, the beautiful and well-read, Mrs. Badran! We are all excited because Mrs. Badran is the new Director of Learning Support at St. Eugene for grades 4K through 8th. And naturally Mrs. Badran loves to read; she started the Battle of the Books competition for us at St. Eugene. Here is a photo of her reading Beneath A Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan. Described to me by Mrs. Badran as “incredible but heartbreaking”, Beneath a Scarlet Sky is based on a true story of a German soldier who joins an underground railroad to help Jews escape over the Alps to safety and who becomes a spy for the Allies in the German high command. This is a thriller that I can’t wait to read! Thanks, Mrs. Badran! See you tomorrow!
