Last Days

Have you ever wondered what goes on in the library when all classes are done and all the books are checked in and inventoried? There is, of course, a little cleaning to be done, but the library is not the quiet place you might imagine. In fact, it is a constant hub of activity on the last day. For example, many students pop in with end-of-the-year treats and gifts (got a nifty miniature whiteboard/chalkboard for my desktop) and hugs. I will miss them! And classes come in to play things like “Music Bingo” with Mrs. Falk. We have turned into a virtual bingo hall these past two days. Here are some fifth graders learning musical symbols and playing bingo:bingo2

After fifth grade leaves, the “Captains of Kickball” gather to draft players for the fifth, sixth and seventh grade teams:captains

And so it goes. Here’s to a great summer for all my readers and especially my students. Wishing all of you sunny weather, good times, good friends and good books!chair
