I love seeing libraries available to everyone! This new kiosk is right at the corner of 64th and Silver Spring and works just like a vending machine. And if they don’t have the book you want? You can request it and it will be delivered to the site–way to go, Milwaukee Public Library!
The self-service technology seen in Redbox DVD rental spots is now being used for a 24-hour, book-dispensing kiosk in Milwaukee’s Westlawn Gardens.
The MPL Express at Silver Spring, which holds about 400 items, opened to the public Thursday on the corner of N. 64th Street and Silver Spring Drive.
It allows patrons to check out or return books and request CDs and DVDs for pick up. You need a Milwaukee Public Library card and a personal identification numberExpress library to use the kiosk.
Metroparent blogger Raina Johnson returned books there this morning. She says the 24/7 convenience is ideal for busy moms.
