RIP Marc Simont

One of my very favorite children’s authors has passed away. Remember The Stray Dog? The Happy Day? Nate the Great? And did you know Marc Simont and Robert McCloskey were roommates at one time and kept a tub full of ducklings so that McCloskey could write his classic, Make Way For Ducklings? Read the rest here:

    Didn’t see the article until now. I’m looking at my copy of The Stray Dog on a shelf across from my desk right now. An astonishingly simple book with great impact and emotion. One of my all time favorites.
