New Non-Fiction

Recently I wrote in a Specialty newsletter that sometimes when students think they don’t like to read, it’s just that they haven’t yet found what they like to read. I suggested that in addition to fiction, they ought to give non-fiction a try. Non-fiction is very popular with some children, especially boys. Sports, spies, science–all have captured the interest of  formerly reluctant readers. But the most “in demand” subject is always animals. Any kind of animal-dog, cat, guinea pig, penguin or polar bear. With that in mind, I purchased a beautiful series from National Geographic called “Face to Face”. These books are full of gorgeous, up-close photographs and fascinating details. Here are a couple of them:
